Witold Rozak takes the lead after Race 2 & 3

The 2nd Virtual SGP in Boras continues with an exciting races.

Race 2 was a copy/paste of the real Sailplane Grand Prix race, while Race 3 was an invention from the task setting team, as the pilots in the real event could not fly due to the bad weather and the arrival of a cold front in Sweden.

In eSports though, we have the chance to fly everyday! Both tasks produced great races for the pilots and the public!

Race 2 (above) was won by British pilot Stewart Henshall in his Ventus3 at an average speed of 101km/h. The 218km race bring was tough with a blue sky and only a few cumuluses!

Another remarkable performance was made by Arne-Martin Guettler who crossed the finish line only 4 seconds later, making an impressive come back in the race from 29th to 2nd position!

Witold Rozak (Poland), Vice-World Champion of the 1st Virtual SGP is showing consistancy and already takes the lead in the overall results after race 2.

The legs upwind were very difficult for the pilots, and some of them had to fly on the ridges of the small hills, to be able to catch a good thermal after some ‘eights’ there. Well done to everyone for the great race!

Watch the replay of the race from some of the pilots:

Race 3 was set by our team to offer the pilots a great view of Goteborg and to fly along the sea front, on the west side of Sweden.

It was the opportunity for Witold Rozak to confirm its advantage after Race 2, by winning its first race of the 2nd Virtual SGP!

Jeroen Jennen from Belgium, and Artur Dziuk from Poland completed the podium of this race.

The finish was so close that the top 10 crossed the finish line within 2 minutes! They all completed the task at around 141 km/h.

We expect the pilots to fight until the very end of the competition, to try to qualify to the World Final 2023; and we are looking forward to live a great livestreaming on Race 4 tonight, with Normen Schindowski and Ben Fest.

The race was 228 km long, and started as usual from Boras Arena with a max altitude of 1,200 m MSL.
TP 1:002SegloravVevg (183 m.)
